At Crown Gardens we occasionally partake in a small tipple of gin and occasionally we might also add a dash of tonic. It turns out that Brighton is a jolly good place to be located for gin fans and anyone who enjoys a squeeze of lime with their beverages should definitely come and visit.
The Gin Tub has recently opened up in Hove and offers everything that you could want from a gin bar….lots of wonderful gin and cocktails. You can have small tasters of their beverages. It also stocks plenty of craft beer, in case you want to take someone who doesn’t appreciate the juniper berry as much as you. Oh, and in case you’re planning on meeting people there, be warned, the walls have been lined with copper, so you can’t get phone signal. Better talk to the person next to you, or sip your gin in silence.
Not only does Brighton have enough gin bars to satiate even the most enthusiastic drinker, we also have our very own gin distillery. Brighton Gin is one of our favourite Brighton-made products. Not only is it absolutely delicious, but it has also been made with love, with each bottle being hand filled. They also deliver to many places on a special gin bike, making it very eco friendly.
You can find Brighton Gin in all good Brighton pubs and gin bars and speaking of gin bars, we have plenty of those to choose from.
If you are visiting Brighton by train, then the Nightingale Room should be your first stop. Located just over the road from Brighton Station, the Nightingale Room is on the first floor of the Ground Central pub. With luxurious 1920s décor and more gin than you could shake your feather boa at, you can get really very comfortable in The Nightingale Room.
The Office is in the middle of North Laine, surrounded by eclectic independent shops and eateries. It’s a perfect place to take a break during a good shopping trip, or while away an afternoon people watching. They have a large selection of gin and a wonderful authentic Thai food. What more could you ask for?
