About this Property

Dragonfly Cottage was built in 1824 and retains many period features. Although in the heart of the city, it is in a normally quiet street, just yards from the shops, clubs and restaurants and five minute’s walk from the sea.

Situated in the stylish Clifton Conservation Area, Dragonfly Cottage was built in 1824 and retains many period features. The interior is both unique and funky, designed to give you a memorable stay. 

Within a couple of minutes walk you will find a Sainsburys and a Waitrose, and Preston Street, with its wall to wall restaurants of just about every ethnicity, is a similar distance. The Brighton Beer Dispensary, a craft beer tavern, is adjacent and is sure to appeal to anyone with a taste for real ale as it has a huge selection and also serves food.

Ground Floor
Living Room - There are two large sofas, one which converts to a double sofa bed to sleep 2. Large, flat screen TV, DVD player complete with a small library of DVDs,  iPod dock and WiFi. There is also a single fold out foam chair bed for one person that can be moved to wherever you wish, plus a further single folding guest bed, which can be used in the lounge, is stored in the Monroe Room. 

Dining Room - Conservatory dining room overlooking the rear garden. Extendable dining table to seat 10. Electronically operated ceiling sunblinds have been installed for your comfort.

Kitchen - Located off the conservatory dining room and fully equipped for your stay:

  • Slimline dishwasher
  • Fridge freezer
  • Washing machine
  • Microwave

Courtyard garden -  High walled rear patio garden with tables and seating for 8.

Cloakroom - With WC and wash basin.

First Floor
The Monroe Room - Sleeps 2, double bed. Charming Juliet balcony, decorative only.

The Bamboo Room - Sleeps 2, double bed.

Treasure Island - Bath, king size, walk in shower cubicle equipped with an Aqualisa power shower, wash basin and WC.

Second Floor
The Eagles Nest - Sleeps 4, with double bed, single pull out bed and a folding guest bed. Large attic bedroom is accessed via a narrow, steep staircase hidden behind the landing door.

Things you need to know...

Please note: For groups of over 7, you will need to add the sofa beds. These are complimentary, please remember to tick the relevant box on the booking page.

THIS HOUSE IS NOT SUITABLE FOR ROWDY GROUPS. Chilled out Hen do's welcome, but no parties or excessive noise in the house. Sorry, no all male groups.

All bed linen and towels are provided.

Access Information

Accessed at street level, the house is arranged over 3 floors. The stairs up to The Eagle's Nest are steep and narrow.  Parental guidance required in the case of younger children.

Parking Information

There are many central NCP car parks nearby. Please see the NCP website for more information. You can also park in the resident bays from 8pm until 9am the following morning.  Subject to availability there is free on street parking nearby between 6pm and 9am the following morning each day and 6pm on Saturday evening to 9am on Monday morning inclusive. For alternative parking ideas, please visit yourparkingspace.co.uk..
